It all started in Florida, where my rockstar single Jamaican mother raised me and taught me hustle by example. Early on I knew education would change my life, so I worked my way into magnet arts middle and high schools and then to Dartmouth, where I studied Neuroscience.
But ultimately med school was not my destiny. I couldn’t ignore my love for TV, movies, music and all things entertainment and pop culture. I grew up admiring staples like Entertainment Tonight and E! News, and I dreamed of co-hosting with Nancy O’Dell and Giuliana Rancic.
But was it just a dream?
I decided to take a giant leap of faith, and after college I moved to New York to pursue hosting. After years of working to catch a break, I won a 2014 national VH1 competition to be a reporter alongside Nick Lachey. That incredible opportunity led to more, and I have since hosted and co-produced digital shows for Condé Nast and covered The Oscars, The GRAMMYs, The Tonys and more for Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. I also write for HuffPost and Penguin Random House.
Right now I’m an Associate Producer on Steve Harvey's Emmy-nominated talk show "STEVE” based in Los Angeles. I’ve worked simultaneously as an Executive Assistant and on-camera talent for the show's daily "Hey Steve" segment in addition to hosting digital content, including a Facebook Live show with Psychic Medium Reginald Lewis. I love it all!
I’m also an award-winning and nationally ranked Slam Poet. I was a 2016 Miss New York USA contestant and I love travel, cooking, snowboarding and Beyonce!
