Florida grown by a rockstar single Jamaican mom, Anna-Kay (or "AK" as friends call her) used education to change her life. She worked her way to magnet arts middle and high schools and then to Dartmouth, where she studied Neuroscience and thought she was destined for med school.
But ultimately, AK couldn’t ignore her love for TV, movies, music and all things entertainment and pop culture. She grew up loving staples like Entertainment Tonight and E! News and dreamed of co-hosting with Nancy O’Dell and Giuliana Rancic. Why couldn't she turn her dream into reality?
AK took a leap of faith and moved to New York after college to pursue hosting. After years of working to break into the industry, AK won a 2014 national VH1 competition to be a reporter alongside Nick Lachey. She has since hosted and co-produced digital shows for Condé Nast and covered The GRAMMYs, The Oscars and more for Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. She also writes for HuffPost and Penguin Random House.
Currently, Anna-Kay is an Associate Producer on Steve Harvey's Emmy-nominated talk show "STEVE".
AK began her work at "STEVE" just one year ago after moving from NYC to sunny Los Angeles. She worked simultaneously as an Executive Assistant and on-camera talent for the show's daily "Hey Steve" segment in addition to hosting digital content, including a Facebook Live show with Psychic Medium Reginald Lewis.
AK is an award-winning and nationally-ranked Slam Poet and was also a 2016 Miss New York USA contestant.
