Born and raised in South Florida to a rockstar single Jamaican mom, Anna-Kay "AK" Thomas has always worked against the odds to pursue her dream career in entertainment media.
Even after working her way to Dartmouth, where she earned a Neuroscience degree (nerd alert?! 🤓), Anna-Kay knew she had to follow her passion for entertainment. So she moved to New York, took several unpaid internships and started from the bottom yet again.
Following years of hard work, AK's career reached new heights when she won a 2014 national VH1 competition to be a reporter alongside Nick Lachey. She has since hosted and co-produced several digital shows for Condé Nast, including her popular "Bachelorette Recap" series. She's covered The GRAMMYs, The Oscars and The Tony Awards for Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter.
AK recently relocated to Los Angeles, CA to work as Assistant to Executive Producer Shane Farley on "Steve," hosted by Steve Harvey.
As a result of her own humble upbringing, Anna-Kay advocates for the arts and accessible college education and mentors young women pursuing media careers. She loves travel, snowboarding, cooking and is an award-winning and nationally-ranked Slam Poet. She was also a 2016 Miss New York USA contestant. AK's celebrity doppelgänger is Kerry Washington, a.k.a. Olivia Pope.
